It is so tough to get more than 3 hours of facetime with the kids during the week. Home from work @ 5:30 ish bedtime 8:30ish.

I don't count the 45 min of dressing and eating before the bus comes.

'Time' – the one unrecoverable asset in life – we 'kill,' 'waste,' and otherwise fail to make best use of time.

And when it is time with our kids, it is that much worse. We may think our children don't notice, but one of the highlights of my life was a comment by my youngest daughter about the fact that I had taken the time to come see her performance in a high school orchestra concert (about 90 minutes each way from where I lived) when so many of her friend's parents did not even come from ten minutes away.

Kids notice – much more than we begin to know – give up whatever else you might think is more important – it can wait until they are gone – the first 18 years of life are very short and will be gone before you know it.

I'll admit that much of what I do is based on the fear of say "I wish" somewhere along the way I decided I'd rather fail then say "I wish...." Hey thanks you just gave me an idea for my next blog post over at DAD-O-Matic

I hear what you are saying Kevin, I struggle with this on a daily basis. Especially with trying to work full time and doing the whole blogging thing as well. I don't want to look back at these years and say, I wish…if you know what I mean!
