Bris – Prayer for Isaac
My son had his Bris on Thursday of this past week. During the ceremony I gave a short prayer for Isaac and one of my blog readers suggested I post the prayer on the blog so here it is.
Isaac I hope you become the best man you can be. I pray that you are strong and follow your dreams. Understand conformity and use it for the good and discard it when it serves no purpose. Isaac I pray you have the courage to face all difficulties that life will throw your way, learn from them and build upon them. Don’t get stuck worrying when you can make a decision and move forward. Even the wrong decision is better than not making one. Isaac I pray you find love and cherish it. Be good to your sisters, love your mother, and teach me about the things your interested in. I promise I’ll do my best to learn about them and be interested in them too.
Isaac you have two beautiful sisters who will teach you how to be carefree, determined, cute, loving, bull headed, and patient. Somehow I think you might just teach them the same thing.
Isaac I need you to know that you have the most wonderful mother in the world. She has been through so much and yet she is still strong. I hope you learn this quality from her. Your mother has strong and deep friendships that she nurtures and grows. I pray you receive this quality from her as well. Isaac, your mother is the love of my life and I met her at a U-hall. Isaac I hope you will know that you can fall in love anywhere and anytime and the girl sitting on the stairs at the u-hall just might be the one so never be afraid to be friendly an say hello. Don’t hesitate out of fear of rejection you just might miss a big opportunity or quite possibly the love of your life. I know I would have.
Isaac I pray that you’re strong caring and kind, Have a long full, and fun life and that you become all that you want to be.
