ADD Day

I had one of my ADD days today. I was everywhere and anywhere except for in the work I was trying to do. I did get some work done on my blog’s this evening but I was utterly unproductive at the office today. I think it was the number of meetings I was in. I just can’t write or parse data if I don’t have uninterupted time.

I also hate parsing data. I love the results but I wish I could pay someone to pull the results out of the data. I like the interviewing to gather the data, I like comming up with the questions I want answered, I like learning the answers to the qestions but I hate parsing the data to get the answers. I’ve had it with pivot tables and excell.

Well that was today tomorrow, I have 2 major objectives for the day. Complete the parsing of the data so I can build my ppt deck and finish updating the other document I’m working on. So it is written so it will be done.

    I follow you on Twitter (ChillinTime60). First let me say that I hope you’re feeling better today. And I hope it’s not the flu!

    Also, on ADD. When my now 24 year old son was 8 years old, he was diagnosed with ADD. At the time, I didn’t know what the procedures/tests were that came to this diagnosis. I just trusted the neurologist who had diagnosed him. He didn’t respond to any of the meds, and 3 years later, he was seen by a neurologist at Boston Children’s Hospital. This doctor said he did not have ADD, but rather a mild form of Tourette’s Syndrome. I asked him how such a diagnosis of ADD could be made when it was Tourette’s. I was told in someone as young as he was at the time of the ADD diagnosis, it can be difficult to distinguish between the two as Tourette’s can mimic ADD in a child under 10 years of age. I’m only mentioning this because of your site here, and dealings with your own ADD. I just thought it might be important to mention this in some way to parents with boys (the neurologist in Boston said this primarily is the case with males) so they can be well informed on the subject.     Thanks so much for this information. I had no idea that it was possible to mis-diagnosed as Tourette’s Syndrome. This is something to keep in mind and for parents to who do get this diagnosis to be aware of. Do you have any idea of how often this mis-diagnoses happens?
